Looking for boredom busters?

So much to see and do in Newcastle!

Looking for boredom busters?

It’s getting to that time of the summer holidays when keeping the kids entertained (and out of trouble!) is a full time job!

We’ve made it easy with our list of top boredom busters for parents!

One of our top choices is a visit to Newcastle Museum. Their Dinosaur Revolution is simply stunning. 10am until 5pm each day. Please arrive early as it is hugely popular! All the details here.

Whether it is to get out of the heat or the rain, a trip to the movies is a must. We recommend joining Cinebuzz; it’s free (via http://www.eventcinemas.com.au) and you can unlock $10 movie tickets for all of the following films at both Event Cinemas Kotara and Glendale. Plus kid’s tickets are $8 at Glendale! Here’s some of our top movie picks for kids of all ages!

Jumanji starring Dwayne Johnson, Missi Pyle and Karen Gillan, is a brand new Jumanji adventure, four high school kids discover an old video game console and are drawn into the game's jungle setting, literally becoming the adult avatars they chose.

The animated Coco follows a 12-year-old boy named Miguel who sets off a chain of events relating to a century-old mystery, leading to an extraordinary family reunion.

For the teenagers (and parents!) The Greatest Showman on Earth with Zac Efron, Rebecca Ferguson, and our own Hugh Jackman is a must. It’s the story of P.T Barnum, a visionary who rose from nothing to create a mesmerizing spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.

Timezone Charlestown has a massive selection of cool activities. They have so many events! Free balloon twisting (January 23) and Basketball (January 23) comps. Plus there will be a massive Disney Day on January 25, followed by the Pet Cuddling Day on January 28. Check out Timezone Charlestown for the full details!

Superstrike (Maitland, Mayfield, Salamander Bay and Warners Bay) continue their massive Happy Hour (9am-10am) $6 per person games until the end of the holidays. Also, the Summer of Fun is something to check out. Between 10:30am-6pm every day you can score for two games $17.95 free return game, plus plenty of discounted meal deals.

There’s plenty to see and do at Newcastle Art Gallery! Head along to the Newcastle Art Gallery to get involved in a number of inspiring art workshops. They are just $10 and would suit any child aged 5 to 12. Click through for all the details.
