Singleton residents will be waiting a bit longer for the town's Riverside Park to become reality.
Work was meant to start next month on the old Sutton Ford site in John Street, however it won't happen until early in the new year now.
Singleton Council says it's been forced to make a fresh call for tenders for the construction of the playground and kiosk building, after declining to award a tender from the initial call.
Despite the delay, council says it remains committed to the long-awaited project.
“Council is committed to delivering the Riverside Park project in the most efficient and cost effective way for the benefit of the community,” council's Anthony Egan said.
“A further report is anticipated to come back before council by the end of the year following the second tender process, and depending on the outcome and availability of a successful tenderer, construction will start early in the new year."
