REPORT: Newcastle to Sydney Trains Taking Longer

Newcastle to Sydney train services get slower as the day goes by according to the latest research.

A report from the Auditor-General has revealed more than 90% of people commuting during the weekday morning peak arrived at Central Station on time between July, 2015 and March, 2016.

However services took longer to arrive as the day went by, dropping by around 5% during the afternoon peak.

The study also found delays on the Newcastle Central Coast line increased during the ten months to April 2016, with the average passenger delayed by nearly five minutes.
