A p-plate driver has destroyed a car he owned for less than 24-hours in a nasty crash in Charlestown.
The 20-year-old and his girlfriend were travelling along Charlestown Road in the Nissan this morning before losing control.
Highway Patrol say the pair were lucky to walk away from the crash after the car ended up on its roof.
The Raymond Terrace driver has been charged with negligent driving and with not complying with the conditions of his licence has he was allegedly behind the wheel of a manual car and was only supposed to be driving automatic.
He's received five demerit points.
