A man's been charged with animal cruelty after he allegedly killed a kookaburra at a licensed premise at Soldiers Point in July.
The man allegedly used an aluminium chair to strike the native bird causing it to fall to the ground.
It's claimed he then kicked the kookaburra.
The bird died at the scene.
Police launched an investigation and today spoke to the 32 year old at a home in Anna Bay.
He's been issued with a court attendance notice and is due to appear in Raymond Terrace Court on October 16.
