The Hunter's aviation enthusiasts are in for a treat.
Cessnock Airport will host a massive 3-day airshow from September 20-22, run by AirVenture Australia.
The event will feature trade displays, seminars and static displays of aircraft, culminating in spectacular aerial displays on Saturday afternoon.
Up to 10,000 people are expected to attend.
Cessnock City Mayor Bob Pynsent is hoping the local airshow becomes an annual event.
"We’ve never hosted anything like this before. It will not only attract more visitors to our region, but also be a great event for local residents to experience.”
Tickets include entry to all three days and when bought online are $35 each and $70 per family. Gate prices will be $50 each and $100 per family.
