Hunter Roadwork Backlog Hits $194 Million

The latest data from the NRMA has unearthed a $194 million dollar roads infrastructure backlog across the Hunter.

Its Funding Local Roads report looked at outstanding roadwork across NSW council areas between 2015 and 2016.

Maitland had more than $65 million dollars worth of outstanding work, Lake Macquaire had more than $43 million dollars of road infrastructure waiting to be completed and there was around $31 million dollars of to be done in Newcastle.

Cessnock Council had $8.9 million dollars of roadwork waiting to be done - but it's a 233.8% increase compared to the previous 12 months.
