Hunter Petting Zoo Owner Guilty Of Animal Cruelty

A Hunter petting zoo owner has been found guilty of a number of animal cruelty offences.

RSPCA inspectors were contacted following reports of a cow in distress at a property in Sawyers Gully in 2015.

'Honey' the cow was found unable to stand after suffering paralysis after giving birth.

Her owner - Joshua Luke Fraser - was told to take the cow to the vet and provide the animal with water and shelter, however the operator of Huntervalley Minifarm failed to comply and 'Honey' had to be euthanised two days later.

While the RSPCA allege the body of her stillborn calf was found on top of an ants nest.

Inspectors returned to the same property in July, 2016 following reports of a camel in distress.

The animal was found to be severely emaciated - and it's claimed the camel hadn't been properly fed in six months.

Sadly the camel died while in the care of vets after suffering a suspected lethal snake bite.

The 29-year-old man has since been handed a two-year good behaviour bond, fined $3,430 dollars and banned from owning any animal for five years.

He was also forced to re-home or surrender all remaining animals in his care.
