A mother and her young daughter have been caught up in the latest bikie shooting in the Maitland area.
About 20 shots were fired into their home in Duskdarter Street at Chisholm at around 1am Thursday morning, narrowly missing them.
A car parked outside was also sprayed with bullets.
A number of items have been taken for forensic examination, while officers continue to search the neighbourhood for clues.
"We believe it's part of the ongoing conflict between the Finks and Nomads. We are very concerned someone will get hurt as a result of these ongoing incidents," Chief Inspector Tony Townsend said.
This morning's shooting is the sixth drive-by in the Hunter area so far this year.
