We're in for some wild weather as what remains of Cyclone Debbie heads south.
The Hunter can expect heavy rain from Thursday afternoon, with showers forecast until at least Tuesday thanks to the low pressure system.
The Weather Bureau has also issued a warning for damaging winds of up to 90km/h in our region on Thursday evening and Friday.
Despite an undoubtedly gloomy forecast for the Hunter it looks like the north coast will cop the worst of the former cyclone, with warnings of heavy rain and flash flooding issued for the Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast.
The Northern Rivers district is forecast to receive more than 200mm of rain over just 24 hours on Thursday or Friday.
