Newcastle's cruise ship season kicks off this weekend.
Ten different ocean liners will pay the city a visit from now until April, starting with the Sun Princess tomorrow.
Around 2,000 people will be onboard the Princess Cruises vessel, which is due to arrive in the port at 7am and dock at the Channel Berth at about 8am.
21,000 cruise ship passengers are set to visit Newcastle this season, injecting an estimated $11 million into our local economy.
Cunard's Queen Elizabeth will make her return in March, while the largest cruise ship to ever visit Newcastle the Celebrity Solstice will make two visits in January and March.
“The cruise season brings a really positive atmosphere to our harbour city. I see many people taking the opportunity to explore Newcastle’s city centre on foot, taking in our picturesque harbour and doing some shopping,” Port of Newcastle CEO Geoff Crowe said.
