The man shot dead on set of a Bliss N Eso music video being filmed in Brisbane, has been identified as Gold Coast stuntman Johann Ofner.

The 28-year-old, who worked as a stuntman and actor, was killed by gunfire on Monday afternoon, while filming for the ARIA award-winning band's new song, Friend Like You.

His death came just hours after he'd uploaded clips to Snapchat showing off the guns and other props being used on set.

Dive bar Brooklyn Standard, where the clip was being filmed, remains a crime scene while investigators try to work out exactly what happened.

Detective Inspector Tom Armitt said the legality and use of "several firearms" would be an integral part of the investigation.

The incident is believed to be accidental but will be treated as suspicious until proven otherwise.

Ofner was also due to compete in Channel Nine's upcoming Australian Ninja Warrior show. He leaves behind a partner and young daughter.
