The Aussie Citizenship Test Is Getting A Bloody Tough Spruik

It will soon be a heck of a lot tougher for wannabe Aussies to get citizenship under new federal government plans.

Migrants wanting to make Australia their permanent home would have to sit a more complex English language and 'Australian values' test and have to wait several more years before being eligible for citizenship - up to four years from the current one year.

Applicants will also only be allowed to fail the test three times, right now there's no limit to amount of times your can take the exam.

Some of the "new and more meaningful" sample questions have been revealed and include:

Can you strike your spouse in the privacy of your home?
Under what circumstances is it appropriate to prohibit girls from education?
Does Australia's principle of freedom of religion mean that in some situations it is permissible to force children to marry?

Applicants will also have to show proof they're integrating with the community like getting a job or joining community organisations.
