The age old argument on whether pineapple belongs on pizza is back on the agenda... at an international level!
Iceland's president Gudni Th. Johannesson has caused a worldwide stir - declaring to a group of high school students that he'd like to ban the fruity topping.
The Icelandic president has a 97 per cent approval rating after six months on the job.
However, after saying he was "fundamentally opposed” to pineapple on pizza, the jury is out whether his personal beliefs will effect his popularity.
Amid the social-media storm that followed, Johannesson took to Facebook admitting he wouldn't want to live in a country where the person in charge could make such dramatic changes.
The former history professor says he "would not want to hold this position if I could pass laws forbidding that which I don't like. I would not want to live in such a country."
As for the President's personal pizza preference, "I recommend seafood."
