Schapelle Corby being released from Denpasar Prison has been the biggest event in the Australian media this year, so naturally the contest to get the best coverage has been intense.
But Channel 7 took it to a remarkable level with their live cross from Bali tonight, broadcasting live from the back of a ute.
The reporter was in the back addressing the camera as the group followed Corby’s entourage on the way to the Balinese parole office where she signed in for the final time before going to the airport.
Watch it here:
Corby has just gotten to the airport, where she will fly back home — the first time she’s left Bali in 13 years.
She’s expected to touch down early tomorrow morning Australian Eastern time.
Corby made headlines earlier when she started an Instagram account that she’s been using to detail her final trip out of Bali.
Corby is expected to touch down to a heavy police presence in Queensland tomorrow morning.
