The spotlight is finally going to shine on Australia's exorbitant electricity prices.
Malcolm Turnbull has announced a well overdue review into our countries electricity market, with the aim of bringing prices down.
The investigation will be led by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. It's off the back of the assumption the market isn't operating as effectively as it should, with lots of competition between power suppliers failing to bring down prices.
The consumer watchdog has been given 6 months to come back with it's initial findings, after scrutinising our power suppliers, and the contracts offered to consumers to make sure we're getting the best deals from competition.
