Adelaide Shaken Awake

3.7 Magnitude Quake Felt Across SA

Adelaide Shaken Awake

Residents across South Australia were stunned awake by a 3.7 magnitude earthquake before 1am on Thursday.

The quake hit Murray Bridge about 75kms to the east of Adelaide just after 12:30am, and was felt in the city.

Geoscience Australia says while the earthquake was relatively small, it was still very shallow at just 8km deep.

This is the first earthquake for South Australia since a 4.7 magnitude tremor hit off the coast off Kangaroo Island mid-way through last year.

There have been no reports of any damage of injuries.
