GARY HARLEY
Position: HOST & COMMENTATOR
AKA: Slim
CREDENTIALS:
Gary was born and bred in Maitland and over the past three decades
has become synonymous with sport in the Hunter region.
In his younger days, he was a champion sportsman, playing rugby
league with West Maitland, Maitland and Murwillumbah.
For his all-round sporting achievements, he took out the Maitland
Junior Sportsman of the Year in 1965.
He has been Newcastle’s premier racing expert for many years
and has called almost every Newcastle Knights game since they entered
the Premiership in 1988, including their two grand final victories
in 1997 and 2001.
A self-confessed “sports tragic”, he is also a popular
host and speaker in the Newcastle and Hunter Region.
FAMILY:
Gary is married to Sue and has two sons, Troy and Todd ... and the
family Labrador, Abbey. |

MICHAEL HAGAN
Michael joined the KO FM commentary team in 2009 for some guest
appearances and enjoyed himself so much, he’s back for more
in 2010!
The former Knights player and coach, who wore the red and blue 111
times and captained the team for 4 years, will also work as Assistant
Coach for the Queensland State of Origin team in 2010.
Prior to becoming a Newcastle Knight, he played 82 1st grade games
with the Canterbury Bulldogs.
In 2001, he became Newcastle’s 1st Grade coach, taking the
team to a Premiership win in his first year. Five years later, he
swapped coaching jobs with Parramatta’s coach Brian Smith.
He has also played and coached State of Origin for Queensland.

BRETT KEEBLE

CREDENTIALS:
Brett's rugby league career lasted three years (under 7s, under
8s, under 9s) with the infamous Berkeley Eagles, then a brief soccer
career with Wollongong Olympic.
Brett currently covers the Newcastle Knights and rugby league
for The Newcastle Herald and has been a member of Gary Harley's
commentary team covering Knights games since 1998.
